Dr. Marlene Tellez’s journey as a Doctor of Chiropractic began while attending the University of Texas at Austin. While studying the field of biopsychology, she became fascinated with the emerging field of psychoneuroimmunology; which studies the psychological factors within the human body. She was inspired to progress into studying neurology, biology, and psychology. During her study, she performed research in the field of psychology for a well-known cognitive behaviorist. She graduated in 1997 receiving a Bachelor of Liberal Arts.
After graduating, she moved back to her home town of Houston, Texas where she embarked on genetic research at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston as a research assistant. After a year of study, she decided to transition her profession. In 2000, she enrolled herself at The Center for Advanced Legal Studies. She received her Paralegal Certificate with National Honor Society Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX).
After graduation, she established a career with a law firm in downtown Houston. Within a year, she rose to become an area manager handling multiple large accounts. While working in the firm, she realized her career needed direction with regard to fulfilling her life purpose. Shortly after, she received a short-term opportunity to assist a friend and relocated to Dallas. While there she had a life-changing experience after a visit with a chiropractor.
Dr. Tellez made pivotal steps towards her spiritual path and enrolled in Parker College of Chiropractic. She was voted by the students as an Innovator and received an Outstanding Intern Award while making the top of the Dean’s List and graduated in May of 2008.
Armed with a Doctoral degree and a mission to heal, she moved back to Houston. She joined a wonderful community of holistic practitioners at The Living Center of Katy. Within a year, Dr. Tellez services grew largely in demand. To meet the expectation of her clients, she opened a second office in the Inner Loop area.
Dr.Tellez is a certified First Degree Usui Reiki Healer and certified in Reconnective Healing. She is a member of e Women Network and Board member for The Community Physician Resource. In addition to her current affiliations, Dr. Tellez served on many professional and/or community organizations:

When Dr. Tellez is not in the office, she enjoys studying about self-growth, the collective consciousness, and ancient civilization. She takes pleasure in spending time with family and friends and is an avid soccer player. She is currently Captain of AFC Renegades co-ed soccer team which is a part of the Alliance Soccer Club.
